Qi class
We're an outdoor class, so we're currently taking a break over winter but we'll be back in Spring 2023. If you'd like to be advised when enrolments are open please get in touch.
Qi class is an outdoor, mindful movement class based on Qigong (also spelt chi gung) and self-shiatsu. Qigong is closely related to T'ai chi and is an exercise system developed in China for the promotion of good health (the literal translation is 'the art of energy cultivation').
It will help you to:
We’ll be OUTSIDE in nature; in a SMALL GROUP; and with lots of SPACE to move freely and safely.
This class is different things to different people. If you're looking to calm your mind and reconnect with your body, this is the class for you. If you're a very active person then these gentler exercises can be a profound complement bringing increased awareness, coordination and enjoyment to your other activities. If you're less mobile then these exercises can keep you active and help you feel more comfortable in your body (and mind). If you're interested in supporting your health and wellbeing from the inside out then this is also for you. And then there's the joy of being in the woods....
No experience is required, but you will need to be mobile enough to walk a short distance into Hirst Wood on rough paths

I'm feeling great! Really positive body experience which feels remarkable given past experiences"
I really enjoyed that, I run to achieve that same sense of “body busy, mind clear”. You were very good at explaining the movements. How delightful to be outside, eyes closed with birdsong and activity"
I like that during the movements you share your thoughts on the aim, developing the motor aspect, reinforcing breathing and some interesting analogies to help illustrate"
I really enjoyed the class yesterday. I feel it is exactly what I need"
