Qi class is an outdoor, socially distanced, mindful movement class to help you to:
We’ll be OUTSIDE in nature; in a SMALL GROUP; and with lots of SPACE to move freely and safely.
No experience required, but you will need to be mobile enough to walk into Hirst Wood on rough paths. Please let me know any health issues when you book so I can help you to get the most out of the class.
Current class: We will learn new movements related to the season as well as review and go deeper with previous movements. Beginners are welcome. There will be two classes:
Cost: £56 for a 7-week course; try out your first class for just £5 and then pay pro-rota for the rest of the course if you wish to join
Booking: due to small class sizes, booking is essential. Please pay up front by bank transfer to reserve your place. Contact me to book.
Where: a glade within Hirst Wood; meet at Hirst Wood car park BD18 4NQ
Travel: if you live nearby then walking / cycling will be a good warm up for the class, otherwise there’s parking at the Hirst Wood car park
What to bring: no equipment necessary. But if you struggle to stand for prolonged periods or may need some support with your balance then I recommend that you bring your own stool or camp chair
What to wear: comfortable clothes and shoes that won’t restrict your movement. This is an outdoor class so please watch the forecast and dress accordingly. Please bring an extra layer just in case.
Toilets: please go before you come
Weather: this is an outside class so please watch the forecast, dress appropriately and we will carry on. However if the forecast is for persistent rain or worse then I will postpone the class and add it on at the end of the course. If I need to postpone I will let you know by 9am (for the 11am class) or 12pm (for the 2pm class).
Covid-19: this is designed to be a very low risk activity, but it is not self-isolation. So if you’ve got any covid symptoms or are required to self-isolate then please practise your Qigong at home, and don’t come to class.
I'm feeling great! Really positive body experience which feels remarkable given past experiences"
I really enjoyed that, I run to achieve that same sense of “body busy, mind clear”. You were very good at explaining the movements. How delightful to be outside, eyes closed with birdsong and activity"
I like that during the movements you share your thoughts on the aim, developing the motor aspect, reinforcing breathing and some interesting analogies to help illustrate"
I really enjoyed the class yesterday. I feel it is exactly what I need"
